Finance Manager
Location: BedfordshireSalary: £55,000 - £75,000 per annumJob Type: Full-TimeStart Date: ASAP (with flexibility for the right candidate) This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional looking to take ownership of financial operations, lead a small team, and work closely with senior leadership. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining strong financial controls, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving operational efficiency across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day management of the finance function.Lead, support and develop a small finance team.Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and governance requirements.Manage client and office accounts, reconciliations and financial reporting.Support budgeting, forecasting and management reporting activities.Assist with year-end processes, statutory accounts preparation and external audits.Monitor financial systems and controls, identifying opportunities for improvement.Manage monthly payroll processes and liaise with HR colleagues.Work closely with senior stakeholders on financial and operational matters.Manage supplier relationships and key service contracts.Promote strong financial discipline and ensure deadlines are consistently achieved. Strong understanding and application of SRA Accounts Rules and legal cashiering procedures.Opportunity to work within a respected and growing legal practice, supporting partners and fee earners with commercial financial insight.Exposure to client account management, office account controls, and regulatory compliance within a legal environment.Involvement in month-end reporting, budgeting, cashflow management, and financial process improvement across the firm.Collaborative role working closely with senior stakeholders, offering genuine scope to influence financial operations and contribute to the firm's success.
