Hays is partnering with an innovative and fast-growing technology business based in Taunton to recruit a Senior Accounts Specialist on a long-term temporary basis. Supporting the finance function during a period of long-term sickness absence, you'll join a collaborative team within a forward-thinking organisation that continues to invest in its people, systems and future growth.
Your new role
As a Senior Accounts Specialist, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day and month-end financial operations of the business. This will be a varied position that combines transactional, reporting and analytical responsibilities, giving you exposure to senior stakeholders across the organisation. Key duties will include:
Supporting month-end and year-end accounting activitiesPreparing balance sheet reconciliations, accruals and prepaymentsAssisting with management accounts and financial reportingMonitoring cash flow and supporting forecasting activitiesReviewing financial processes and identifying improvementsSupporting audit requirements and compliance activitiesProviding financial information and support to non-finance stakeholdersAssisting the wider finance team with ad-hoc projects as required What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in this role, you'll have previous experience within a senior accounting or finance position and be comfortable managing a varied workload in a fast-paced environment.You'll ideally have:
Experience as a Senior Accounts Assistant, Assistant Accountant, Finance Officer or similarStrong month-end and reconciliation experienceAAT qualification, ACCA/CIMA studies, or be qualified by experienceAdvanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and Lookup functionsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsThe ability to work independently and quickly add valueAvailability to start at short notice or immediately What you'll get in return
