Reed Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a well-established business in Blyth to recruit a Lead Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified or part-qualified accountant to join a growing finance team and take ownership of the month-end reporting cycle while providing valuable financial insight to support operational and strategic decision-making.
This role would suit a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional who enjoys working closely with both operational stakeholders and finance colleagues, ensuring accurate reporting, strong financial controls, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Take ownership of the month-end accounts production and reporting cyclePrepare and post monthly journals, including accruals and prepaymentsProduce accurate and timely management accounts in line with reporting deadlinesComplete monthly balance sheet reconciliationsDeliver monthly flash reports and weekly KPI reportingOversee the accounts payable function, including reviewing and approving payment runsProvide financial analysis and insight to support business performanceSupport the Operations team and wider Group Finance function with reporting and project workIdentify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and efficienciesEnsure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across reporting activities About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification, or be actively studying towards a professional accounting qualificationPrevious experience in a similar accounting or finance role within a commercial environmentStrong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems (IFS experience would be advantageous)Experience producing management accounts and supporting month-end processesExcellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple prioritiesStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyThe ability to build effective relationships and communicate confidently with stakeholders across the businessA proactive approach and a desire to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives What's on Offer
