About this role

PS Job Title: Data Integrity Analyst Work Place Flexibility: Onsite Legal Entity: Entergy Services, LLC ***This position may be filled as a Data Integrity Analyst I or II depending on the identified candidates’ qualifications.*** Job Summary/Purpose The Data Integrity Analyst (DIA) serves as a “data steward” of a functional area. The DIA works closely with IT and enterprise data governance resources in support of the following data management activities as part of both “build” and “run” functions—data governance/stewardship, master data management, metadata management, data quality management, data modeling, data replication/migration/integration, taxonomy/ontology/search, data security/privacy and data architecture. The DIA is the subject matter expert for a business function’s data. DIAs are responsible for information certification and will execute processes that ensure the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data—including associated business rules, business formulas, aggregations, etc.—for designated output (like reports, dashboards, etc.) For example, within the AMI Operations Center (also known as “AMOC”), this role will be used to staff positions responsible for day-to-day monitoring and maintenance of AMI data transfers and transactions—supporting processes dependent on data from advanced meters like meter-to-cash, outage management, etc. These positions will work closely with IT resources to resolve issues related to data transfer among integrated systems. The main performance objective of this role in the AMOC is to minimize the number of unaccounted-for meters, ensure that the data used for customer billing, system analysis and regulatory reporting is secure and of the highest accuracy, and act as the primary utility point of contact to troubleshoot ongoing system issues affecting data integrity. Job Duties/ Responsibilities Ensure data governance/stewardship by establishing/following practices for master data management, metadata management, data quality management, data modeling, data replication/migration/integration, taxonomy/ontology/search, data security/privacy and data architecture; these activities will support design, build, test and deploy phases of technology implementation as well as on-going business operations. Contribute to master data management at Entergy—i.e. identify and define mappings for the most important, critical and valuable data at the company. Contribute to metadata management at Entergy—i.e. identify and define mappings for the lineage of metadata at Entergy. Ensure data quality management—including profiling, monitoring and cleansing of data; perform periodic reconciliations (driven by monthly or quarterly data audits); monitor daily system logs for data quality issues and manage resolution work; maintain ongoing tracking of data unaccounted for in key systems using designated enterprise tools. Supervise data migration and integration activities. Implement taxonomy, ontology and search capabilities by providing data with descriptions, nomenclature and classifications. Support data security and privacy practices by working with Entergy’s data security team and adhering to existing practices. Support data architecture efforts by collaborating with Entergy’s Enterprise Architecture team and application data architects. Liaise with 3rd party data providers—i.e. AMI meter installation vendor--to ensure that essential information is correctly passed onto Entergy systems via recurring data transfers; if data is unaccounted for, provide oversight and guidance on the investigation process. Organize the causes of data sync failure into categories for reporting/communicating to business stakeholders. Master the mechanics of data transfer interfaces and proactively identify ways in which to reduce data sync issues through process or technical improvements; record incident resolution methodology in knowledge repository. For system issues that remain unresolved after normal troubleshooting procedures, log tickets with IT support staff for troubleshooting in appropriate systems—i.e. MDMS, CCS, HES, OMS, etc.—and follow through with involved parties to ensure issue resolution. Provide technical support after-hours or on holidays if required. Where applicable, execute standard IT Service Management (problem, incident, and knowledge management) processes. Clearly define and implement the boundaries of data management work between the data integrity analyst role and the IT organization—developing processes and procedures as necessary. While not solely a technical position, must deliver responses to requests for data using various tools and systems including the ability to develop, communicate and/or write program logic.
