We're looking for a Subsidence Building Technician to join our growing team and play a key role in helping customers navigate complex subsidence claims from mitigation through to final repair and settlement. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with subsidence or property claims experience, a building professional with strong trade expertise, or a graduate surveyor looking to develop their career. You'll manage claims from start to finish, working with customers, contractors and insurers while overseeing investigations, repairs, cost control and settlement negotiations. The role consists of the management of subsidence claims, with a focus on the Mitigation or Repair phase of the claim. This will be to efficiently manage each phase proactively, to seek an effective and efficient outcome for the claim journey. Main duties and responsibilities will be to work as part of our desk-based subsidence team to drive subsidence claims towards settlement and will include: Communicating with customers, contractors and insurer clients over the telephone, email and in writing Production of technical reports, to meet SLA’s Management of daily tasks Managing third party companies to achieve vegetation removal and drain repairs to mitigate the cause of subsidence damage Updating and creating building repair scopes using our in-house schedule of rates Assessing contractor estimates Negotiating cash settlements for repairs with policyholders Managing panel contractors, controlling repair schedules and costs Settling claims under delegated authority Maintain a high level of personal competence Adhere to Company systems and procedures Updating the claim information relevant claims IT system Actively promote the principle of Treating Customer Fairly Respond to requests and tasks set by the Senior members of the team. Undertake any other tasks that are reasonably assigned to you from time to time
