Join Forward Trust as a Health & Wellbeing Practitioner based at HMP Millsike, working full time, 35 hours per week. Due to the rural location of HMP Millsike, a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential for this role.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape a healthier, more positive prison environment by supporting individuals to improve their physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.

Working as part of our innovative Connections Health & Wellbeing & Recovery Support Service, you’ll help deliver a prison-wide programme of activities, workshops and interventions that empower people to make lasting positive change.

What You’ll Be Doing

Deliver engaging 1:1 support, group sessions and wellbeing programmesWork alongside trained prisoner Health & Wellbeing ChampionsPromote healthier lifestyles, recovery and positive routinesOrganise wellbeing events and pop-up health promotion daysSupport individuals with tailored plans for progress and releaseBuild strong partnerships with healthcare, substance misuse and prison teamsHelp create a vibrant calendar of activities including yoga, mindfulness, healthy eating and moreMaintain accurate case notes, assessments and performance data What We’re Looking For

Experience supporting vulnerable or complex individualsA passion for health, wellbeing, recovery and rehabilitationStrong communication and relationship-building skillsOrganised, proactive and able to manage a varied caseloadComfortable working in partnership with multiple agenciesGood IT skills and confidence using case management systemsFlexible approach, including some evening and weekend delivery At Forward Trust, we believe everyone deserves the chance to move forward. All prison-based roles are subject to enhanced DBS checks and HMPPS security vetting. These checks can take up to 5 months to complete. Any offer of employment will be conditional upon the successful completion of both checks.
