About the Role Join our team as a Data Center Technician supporting data center operations in Norfolk, United States . This is a freelance, on-demand opportunity for experienced technicians who can provide hands-on support when needed at data center facilities. You’ll handle tasks such as hardware installation, troubleshooting, network operations, and general data center support , working independently on assigned tickets while collaborating remotely with the wider team. Compensation & Benefits Competitive hourly rate , based on experience and assignment Paid per completed/approved assignment or ticket Opportunities for ongoing on-demand work Flexible scheduling based on available assignments Work Schedule Freelance / on-demand No fixed minimum number of hours Work is assigned based on available tickets and client requirements Assignments may occasionally require nights, weekends, or short-notice onsite support Technicians must be available to travel to the assigned data center location when a ticket requires onsite support Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain server and network equipment Perform structured cabling (copper and fiber optic) Execute hardware deployments and decommissions Monitor environmental systems (power, cooling, security) Respond to incidents and perform troubleshooting Maintain accurate documentation and asset tracking Collaborate with engineering and operations teams Participate in capacity planning and upgrades
