About this role
Mechanical Inspection and Repair works on mobile plant including road vehicles, forklift trucks, mobile cranes, dockside & gantry cranes, cherry pickers and scissor lifts.Mechanical refurbishment of pumps, valves, gearboxes, hydraulic components and dock specific equipment (capstans / winches / Gates)Mechanical Inspection, Servicing and Testing of long travel, cross travel, hoist, racking, luffing systems on Dockside / Gantry / EOT cranes.Mechanical Inspections, Servicing and Testing of brake units on long travel, cross travel, hoist, racking, luffing systems on Dockside / Gantry / EOT cranes.Diesel engine servicing (road vehicles / forklift trucks / cherry pickers).Vessel services – connection of water supply and cooling discharge hoses to dockside infrastructure and onboard vesselsInterpret Parts Manuals, Schematic Drawings and Parts ListsInterpret Oral & Written InstructionsInterpret Health & Safety ArrangementsOperate Equipment & Tools e.g., lathes & milling machines Experienced Maintenance Fitter in a similar environmentStrong mechanical aptitude and technical skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair mechanical issues.Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.Familiarity with a wide range of hand and power tools used in maintenance and repair work.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
