We have a thrilling opportunity for the right candidate to take the next step in their accounting career. We are currently seeking an Senior Cost Accountant to oversee the Accounting Department and financial accounting for the company.
The general responsibilities of the Senior Cost Accountant will fall into the categories as follows:
Cost Accounting - help implement processes and proceduresReview general ledger and financial statements for accuracyComplete the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries, accruals, overhead allocations, and creating the financial statements as well as monthly budgets, etc.Prepare bank reconciliationsAssist with monthly inventory reconciliationAnalyze actual manufacturing costs and provide explanations of applicable variancesAssist the Executive VP & CEO with other assignments and ad hoc projects as needed Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance3-5+ years’ experience of cost accounting for manufacturingStrong accounting, quantitative, and analytical skills and ability to apply those skills within the roleAbility to identify issues and take initiative for process improvement and problem resolutionAbility to work independently or with minimal supervisionAbility to work with all levels within the organizationExcellent verbal and written communication skillsCustomer-oriented focusAbility to meet deadlinesIntermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skillsProficiency in Sage/MAS90 All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
