About this role
As a Research Intern, you’ll explore how AI can transform the daily work of mechanical engineers. Your goal is to identify practical opportunities where AI tools can automate, accelerate, or improve engineering tasks and develop concepts that demonstrate their potential in a real-world engineering environment.
Map the engineering workflow – Analyze common mechanical engineering tasks such as 3D modelling, technical drawing creation, BOM generation, cost-price calculations, requirements specification, testing, validation, and simulationsIdentify AI opportunities – Investigate which mechanical engineering activities could be automated or enhanced using AI and assess their potential impactResearch AI solutions – Explore existing AI tools, technologies, and approaches relevant to mechanical engineering and evaluate their capabilities and limitationsDefine use cases – Select promising applications and translate them into clear, practical use cases based on business and engineering requirementsDevelop Proofs of Concept – Prototype selected AI applications to demonstrate how they could support or automate engineering tasksEvaluate feasibility – Assess the accuracy, reliability, efficiency, and practical applicability of AI solutions in a professional engineering environmentRecommend next steps – Translate your findings into concrete recommendations for how AI could be integrated into the mechanical engineering workflow Currently studying Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related fieldStrong interest in AI and its practical applications in engineeringGood analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication skills and able to present findings clearlyProactive and independent working styleComfortable exploring new technologies and translating research into practical solutionsAvailable to work at least 3 days per week from the office 💼 What We Offer:
