About this role
Our client, operating within the energy transmission and distribution sector, is seeking an Environment & Sustainability Manager for a permanent role (9-12 month maternity cover). Based from home with regular site visits and office attendance, the role will support environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives and responsible project delivery across the business.
Key Responsibilities: Developing and implementing environmental and sustainability strategies aligned with business objectivesMonitoring environmental performance and supporting continuous improvement across energy and transmission and distribution projectsEnsuring compliance with relevant environmental legislation, permits, standards and industry requirementsPreparing environmental reports, assessments, policies and sustainability documentationSupporting environmental inspections, audits, risk assessments and site-based improvement plansProviding guidance to project teams, managers, contractors and other stakeholders on environmental mattersPromoting sustainable working practices, resource efficiency and effective environmental managementAttending project sites and the office as required to support operational and sustainability objectives Job Requirements: Experience in environmental management and sustainability within the energy, utilities, construction or infrastructure sectorStrong understanding of environmental legislation, compliance requirements and sustainability principlesAbility to develop practical environmental strategies and sustainability improvement plansExperience conducting audits, inspections, risk assessments and environmental reviewsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsStrong report-writing, organisational and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work independently from home while collaborating effectively with project and operational teamsWillingness to travel to sites and attend the office when required Benefits: Private health schemeSalary Sacrifice Electric Vehicle Car Scheme6% employer pension contributionDeath in Service insurance22.5 days annual leave per annum (plus 8 days bank holidays)1 day of paid charity leave per annumCharity eventsCompany bonus scheme If you are an experienced environmental and sustainability professional looking to make a meaningful contribution within the energy transmission and distribution sector, apply now to join our client's team.
