Assistant Accountant
Interim Contract - 6 months
£225–£300 per day
Central London – Hybrid Working (2 Days Per Week in Office)
We're supporting an international professional services business that is looking to appoint an experienced Assistant Accountant on an interim basis.
This is a broad, hands-on role covering Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, credit control, expenses, banking and month-end support across a multi-entity, multi-currency environment.
We're looking for someone with a few years' experience who understands the full transactional finance cycle, can join the dots between different entities and currencies, and is comfortable taking ownership without needing constant supervision.
The Role
Working closely with the Finance Manager, you'll take responsibility for the day-to-day transactional finance activities while supporting the wider month-end close.
Key Responsibilities
Manage AP, including supplier invoices, reconciliations, aged creditors and payment runsSupport AR and sales invoicing, including customer payments, credit notes and invoice queriesManage employee expenses and corporate credit cards across multiple entitiesSupport credit control and produce regular aged debtor reportingComplete multi-currency bank reconciliations and investigate discrepanciesProcess and reconcile intercompany transactionsPrepare journals including accruals, prepayments and deferred income/costsSupport month-end close, audit requests and wider finance activitiesMaintain accurate financial information within NetSuite
What We're Looking For
Previous experience as a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or Assistant AccountantBroad experience across AP, AR and reconciliationsNetSuite experience is essentialExperience within a multi-entity, multi-currency environmentComfortable with journals, accruals, prepayments and month-end supportStrong attention to detail with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepanciesProactive, confident and able to work independentlyProfessional services or recruitment experience would be beneficial but isn't essential
