Your new company Hays are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and highly respected professional services organisation in Chelmsford to recruit a Finance Manager. This newly created position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to lead the finance function, influence strategic decision-making and play a key role in supporting continued growth and success. Working closely with senior leadership and department heads, you will take ownership of financial operations, reporting, compliance and controls while leading a dedicated finance team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical excellence with commercial insight and wants to make a visible contribution within a collaborative and people-focused business environment.Your new role As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day leadership of the finance function, ensuring robust financial processes and delivering accurate, timely financial information to support business performance. Key responsibilities will include:
Leading and developing the finance teamManaging cash flow and supporting financial planning activitiesOverseeing accounts operations, supplier payments and financial controlsProducing insightful financial reports and management informationManaging month-end and year-end processesOverseeing the preparation of management and statutory accountsManaging VAT, tax compliance and HMRC reportingMonitoring credit control, aged debt and cash collection performanceManaging payroll processes in conjunction with HRBuilding strong relationships with external advisers, banking partners and suppliersDriving continuous improvement across finance processes and controls What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with experience leading a finance function within a professional services or regulated environment.You will bring:
