Production Technician - UAV Manufacturing
Location: Hereford Type: Full-Time Department: Production / Manufacturing Reporting To: Head of Manufacturing
The Opportunity
I am partnering with a rapidly growing defence technology company developing advanced unmanned aerial systems (UAS) for military and security applications.
This is a hands-on production role at the heart of UAV manufacturing. You'll be responsible for preparing and bonding carbon fibre airframes before they move into final assembly, helping transform composite structures into operational aircraft.
Working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you'll follow detailed build instructions, maintain high quality standards, and play a direct role in delivering critical capability to end users.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare carbon fibre UAV airframes for assembly and integrationMix, apply, and cure adhesives in line with manufacturing specificationsFollow manufacturing orders and work instructions accurately, including curing and process timingsCarry out self-inspection of completed work and identify any defectsMaintain quality standards while working to production deadlinesWork closely with production and assembly teams to ensure efficient workflow Essential Experience & Skills
Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detailExperience carrying out precise hands-on assembly, bonding, or similar technical workAbility to follow written instructions and manufacturing processes accuratelyComfortable working in a fast-paced production environmentStrong focus on quality and accuracyReliable, organised, and able to work independentlyAble to commute to Hereford on a daily basis Desirable Experience
Composite bonding, lay-up, trimming, or finishing experienceAerospace, automotive, marine, motorsport, or advanced manufacturing backgroundAbility to read engineering drawings or technical documentationExperience using hand tools and measuring equipmentPrevious experience within a quality-controlled manufacturing environmentEngineering or manufacturing qualification/apprenticeship
