Are you an organised and proactive professional with experience in school administration, attendance, or pastoral support? We are seeking a dedicated Attendance Officer to join a supportive school team and play a key role in improving student attendance and engagement. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people and building positive relationships with families to help ensure every student can achieve their full potential. The Role As Attendance Officer, you will be responsible for monitoring and promoting excellent attendance across the school. Working closely with pastoral, safeguarding and senior leadership teams, you will help identify attendance concerns, implement support strategies, and maintain accurate records. Key responsibilities include:
Monitoring daily attendance and identifying attendance concernsFollowing up on student absences and latenessCommunicating regularly with parents, carers and external agenciesMaintaining accurate attendance records and reportsSupporting attendance improvement plans and interventionsWorking collaboratively with pastoral and safeguarding teamsEnsuring compliance with attendance policies and proceduresManaging attendance information using Arbor and other school systems About You The successful candidate will: Have previous experience in an attendance, pastoral, administrative, or school-based role Be confident communicating with parents, carers and external professionals Possess excellent organisational and IT skills Be able to handle sensitive information professionally and confidentially Work independently while contributing positively to a wider team Have experience using school management information systems Have strong working knowledge of Arbor MIS, which will form a key part of the role What We Offer
