Solution Architect / Senior Solution Architect - Modern Architecture
£650 - £750 p/d - IR35 TBC - 6 Month initial contract but likely to be extended
Overview:
We're looking for an experienced Solution Architect to join a major technology modernisation programme, helping transition a complex technology estate away from legacy platforms towards a modern, cloud-native, domain-oriented and event-driven architecture.
This is a highly delivery-focused architecture role. You'll work closely with engineering teams to define solutions, validate architectural approaches and ensure they can be successfully implemented within a production environment.
What you'll be doing Designing API-first architectures and integration patternsExploring and implementing event streaming and messaging technologies, including KafkaDesigning and delivering cloud-native solutions within AWSDefining microservices and distributed system architecturesDesigning solutions using event-driven architecture principlesApplying Domain-Driven Design (DDD) to complex technology environmentsWorking directly with engineering teams to turn architecture into working solutionsAssessing and selecting appropriate technologies and tooling, proving approaches alongside engineersEnsuring architectural solutions are practical, scalable and capable of being implemented successfullySupporting the transition from legacy applications towards a modern distributed technology landscapeCommunicating complex technical concepts clearly to both engineering teams and wider stakeholders What we're looking for You'll have significant practical experience designing and delivering distributed systems, with strong knowledge across:
AWS / cloud-native architectureMicroservices architectureEvent-Driven ArchitectureDistributed systems and distributed data architectureDomain-Driven DesignAPI-first designEvent streaming and messaging patternsKafka or comparable event-streaming technologiesModern application architecture and platform modernisation
