Your new company Hays Education are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Supervisor to join a busy school in Wigan. Due to the split-shift nature of the role, this position would ideally suit someone local to the area who can easily travel to and from site throughout the day. This is a fantastic opportunity for a school-experienced site professional who enjoys working in a hands-on role and takes pride in maintaining a safe, secure and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
Your new role
Acting as a keyholder, opening and securing the school site each dayCarrying out daily site checks and ensuring buildings remain safe and secureUndertaking general maintenance, repairs and DIY tasksMonitoring the condition of the school grounds and facilitiesSetting up rooms and equipment for school events and activitiesLiaising with contractors and overseeing work carried out on siteResponding to maintenance requests from staffSupporting compliance with health and safety regulations across the school
What you'll need to succeed
Previous experience working as a Site Supervisor, Caretaker or Premises Officer within a schoolExperience holding keyholder responsibilitiesStrong practical maintenance and DIY skillsGood knowledge of health and safety proceduresReliable, organised and able to work independentlyEnhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
