Interim Management Accountant Location: Central Birmingham (Hybrid) Rate: Up to £375 per day (Inside IR35) Contract Length: 3-6 Months Start Date: Immediate
The Opportunity Robert Half is supporting a well-established and growing business based in Central Birmingham in the recruitment of an experienced Interim Management Accountant.
This is a hands-on role requiring a fully qualified accountant who can hit the ground running and take ownership of delivering accurate and timely financial reporting. Working closely with the Financial Controller and wider finance team, you will play a key role in month-end reporting, balance sheet integrity, budgeting, forecasting and business performance analysis.
The business is looking for a proactive individual who enjoys being involved in the detail, can challenge processes and provide meaningful financial insight to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities Preparation of monthly management accountsFull ownership of month-end close activitiesBalance sheet reconciliations and control reviewsAccruals, prepayments and journal preparationVariance analysis with clear commentaryBudgeting and forecasting supportCashflow reporting and analysisSupporting audit requirements and year-end processesBusiness partnering with operational stakeholdersReviewing and improving existing finance processes and controlsAd hoc reporting and financial analysis as required Candidate Profile ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualifiedProven experience in a Management Accountant roleStrong month-end and financial reporting expertiseExcellent balance sheet control and reconciliation experienceAdvanced Excel skillsAble to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAvailable to start at short notice Desirable Experience Experience within SME, owner-managed or private equity-backed businessesPrevious interim/contract experienceExposure to process improvement and finance transformation projectsStrong ERP systems experience
