About this role
Working under the direction of the Director, Facilities, Construction & Retail Operations, the Project Manager will serve as the primary liaison between Hospital operations and the construction team from project start to finish. They will be responsible for ensuring project activities are coordinated effectively while achieving clear ongoing communication with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders. Additionally, the Project Manager will:
Work in a self-directed manner to manage complex project deliverables (charter, risk register, issues log, budget, etc.), establishing a means for ensuring the project is on-time and on-budget Provide support to project leads by managing, developing, and evaluating methods and procedures that are efficient, effective, and utilize good project management and change management practicesDevelop RFI/RFP’s and work with vendors in evaluating and implementing proposed changesNegotiate and resolve contractual and project issues with contractors and suppliersWork with stakeholders and project team to analyze project(s) for needs assessment, system selection and/or process reengineering;Work with stakeholder groups and project team to analyze project(s) for needs assessment, system selection and/or process reengineering, solve innovative business problems with available technology including hardware, software, databases, and peripherals, employing a full range of organizational resources to gather information, involve others, and make recommendations accordingly.Develop and presents material for review and information using strong written, verbal, and graphical communications skills with the ability to express complex concepts effectively.Provide strategic leadership and corporate vision to operational and project teams.Function at and utilize a high level of autonomy in determining objectives of assignment to achieve desired results, allocating staff resources, delegating assignments, scheduling/prioritizing staff workloads, determining, monitoring and reviewing team goals, performance and expectations. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or equivalentProject Management Professional (PMP) designation or project management certificateMust have at least 5 years of extensive project management experience, from planning and design, to constructionExperience with Ministry of Health submissions and planningKnowledge and understanding of the Ontario Building Code (OBC), Fire Codes, National Building Code (NBC), CSA z8000 for provisions of planning/design within guidelines in HealthcareLean/process improvement exposure is desirableSelf-motivated, work independently and integrate well as a member of a variety of teamsFlexible and enjoy working in a fast paced environmentAbility to review, synthesize, compare and summarize complex tender documentsExperience liaising with a broad range of individuals from clinical and professional staff to external stakeholdersEffective research skills to identify best practices for a wide variety of areas related to complex projectsExceptional verbal, written communication and presentation skills essentialInterpersonal and conflict management skillsTime management, organizational, conceptual and strategic thinking skills and abilitiesComputer literacy including Microsoft Word, AutoCAD, Excel, Project, Visio, database management, project management software, etc. Status: Temporary Full-time (Approx. 24 months)
Hours: Monday to Friday - 7.5 hour day shifts (Hours are subject to change based on operational needs)
Salary: $54.219 to $67.800 per hour
