Greencross Vets is seeking an experienced Locum Veterinary Nurse to provide casual support across our Gold Coast clinic network.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly capable nurse who enjoys variety, flexibility, and the challenge of stepping into different clinic environments while consistently delivering exceptional patient care.
We're looking for someone who can confidently walk into a clinic, quickly adapt to the team and workflow, and provide reliable support with minimal direction or supervision.

About the Role
As a Casual Locum Veterinary Nurse, you'll provide support across multiple Greencross clinics on the Gold Coast to assist with:
Annual leave coveragePersonal leave coverageRecruitment gapsBusy periods and increased caseloadsAdditional roster support when requiredThis role offers a high level of variety, exposure to different teams and caseloads, and the opportunity to utilise your nursing skills across a network of well-equipped clinics.
Your responsibilities may include:
Assisting veterinarians during consultations, treatments, and proceduresSurgical preparation and theatre assistanceMonitoring anaesthesia and supporting patient recoveryMedical nursing and hospital patient careCollecting pathology samples and performing diagnostic testingAdministration of medications and treatmentsDental nursing and radiographyEmergency and urgent care nursing supportNurse consulting and assisting with patient workupsSupporting reception and client service when requiredMaintaining high standards of hygiene and infection controlContributing positively to clinic workflow and team cultureAbout You
We're looking for a confident and adaptable nurse who:
Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or equivalent Has a minimum of 3+ years of clinical veterinary nursing experience post-qualificationCan confidently work with minimal supervisionHas strong surgical nursing and anaesthetic monitoring skillsIs experienced across both medical and surgical nursingIs comfortable adapting to new teams and clinic environmentsDemonstrates excellent animal handling abilitiesHas strong communication and client care skillsIs organised, proactive, and solutions-focusedEnjoys supporting teams and helping clinics succeedExperience with veterinary practice management systems such as RxWorks and SmartFlow will be highly regarded.
