We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our operations team in Kuwait. In this senior-level position, you will oversee the design, installation, maintenance, and optimization of mechanical systems and equipment critical to port operations. You will lead a team of engineers and technicians while ensuring all systems operate at peak efficiency and comply with international safety standards. Design, develop, and oversee the installation of mechanical systems and equipment for port infrastructure, including cargo handling machinery, conveyor systems, and hydraulic/pneumatic equipmentConduct detailed technical analyses and troubleshooting of mechanical failures, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions to minimize downtimeLead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and ensuring adherence to quality and safety standardsManage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to optimize equipment performance and extend asset lifespanPrepare comprehensive technical documentation, including design specifications, maintenance manuals, and standard operating proceduresEnsure all mechanical systems and operations comply with international regulations, industry standards (IMCA, ISO), and local Kuwait regulationsCollaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, procurement, and safety departments to coordinate equipment upgrades and maintenance schedulesEvaluate vendor proposals and manage relationships with equipment suppliers and contractorsConduct risk assessments and HAZOP analyses to identify potential hazards and implement mitigation strategiesMonitor equipment performance metrics and prepare detailed reports for senior managementStay current with industry advancements and recommend adoption of new technologies and best practices Minimum 15 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering with at least 8 years in port, maritime, or heavy industrial operationsProven expertise in designing and maintaining mechanical systems, including cargo handling equipment, conveyor systems, and hydraulic/pneumatic machineryAdvanced proficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD, CATIA) and engineering analysis tools (ANSYS or equivalent)Strong knowledge of international safety standards and regulations (IMCA, ISO 9001, ISO 14001)Demonstrated experience in equipment maintenance management, predictive maintenance, and reliability engineeringProven leadership experience managing technical teams and mentoring junior engineersExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detailProficiency in maintenance management software and data analysis toolsKnowledge of automation systems and control technologies in port operationsStrong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneouslyExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are preferredFamiliarity with budget management and cost optimization in equipment operationsProfessional certification in mechanical engineering or related field is preferred
