About this role
The Grocery Lead serves as the liaison between the Grocery team members, Assistant Store Operations Manager, and Store Operations Manager to ensure that merchandise is properly stocked and displayed attractively across Eataly’s retail department. The Grocery Lead promotes exceptional guest service on the retail team, using interpersonal skills and product knowledge to drive sales and improve guest satisfaction. Reports to the Store Operations Manager.
Stocks, rotates and faces products according to department procedure and merchandizing standardsCollaborates with the Warehouse team to maintain proper stock levels, organizing back stock and warehouse storage effectively and efficientlyFollows order and inventory procedures; places orders and receives deliveries, verifying order and invoice accuracyAssists with delegating tasks, supervising, training and motivating Grocery AssociatesMaintains accurate department signage, pricing and labellingRotates products according to First In First Out (FIFO) standardsInspects shelves and immediately removes expired or damaged merchandiseCommunicates grocery needs, adjustments and problems to the Operations Managers promptly and efficientlyAssesses departmental food waste with department heads and diverts waste to donationsPartners with Marketing to coordinate product demosMaintains safe and clean work conditions and compliance with local regulationsPerforms light cleaning duties such as sweeping, dusting and packaging disposal as necessaryHandles payments and ensures accurate accounting of all transactions, collections and disbursementsObtains and reviews information regarding price changesPerforms other duties as required or assigned Positive attitude and ability to work well with a teamBasic math and cash-handling skillsVerbal and written communication skillsHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredPrevious leadership and stocking experience in a retail setting preferredJob Requirements
Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule including nights and weekendsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squattingAbility to use a hand truck, cart, box cutter, ladder and cleaning suppliesCompensation
