About this role
Reporting to the Chef and Sous Chef, the Brunch Cook prepares and cooks breakfast and brunch dishes to O&B standards. You'll run your station during busy morning and weekend services, making sure every plate goes out consistent, beautifully presented and on time. This role is ideal for a cook who loves the energy of brunch service and takes pride in getting the details right.
The day to day:
Prepare and cook brunch and breakfast dishes to O&B standardsFollow recipes, portion controls and plating specifications set by the restaurantSet up and stock your station before service, and complete the daily prep listWork efficiently during high-volume weekend brunch services, keeping ticket times on trackCommunicate clearly with the kitchen team and front-of-house staff to keep service running smoothlyFollow the FIFO (first in, first out) method to ensure freshness and minimize wasteHelp with food inventory and stock controlHelp receive deliveries, check them for quality, and store them properlyKeep food prep areas, equipment and utensils clean and organized, following all sanitation, food safety and hygiene guidelinesFollow WHMIS guidelines and Safety Data Sheets (SDS)Break down, clean and restock your station at the end of each shiftCarry out tasks delegated by the Sous Chef, Chef and/or General ManagerPerform any other duties as assigned At least 1 year of experience as a line cook in a full-service restaurantExperience with breakfast or brunch service is an assetStrong knowledge of egg cookery and classic breakfast techniquesAbility to stay calm, organized and efficient in a fast-paced kitchenA strong eye for detail and consistency in platingGood communication and teamwork skillsFood Handler Certification is an assetThis is a part time positionAvailability for early mornings, weekends and holidays - shifts would be Saturday & Sunday along with long weekend Mondays - 7/8am to 3/4pm.Legally eligible to work in Canada This is a current vacancy
Wage: 19 - 21$ / hour
