About this role

The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, accuracy, and performance of J.S. Held’s enterprise applications by designing and executing comprehensive testing strategies. This role plays a key part in reducing operational risk, improving user experience, and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality solutions across integrated systems.

As an early member of J.S. Held’s growing hub in Delhi, India, this individual will join a newly expanding team and have the unique opportunity to help shape quality assurance practices, contribute to operational excellence, and support the development of a high-performing regional presence. Working alongside other new hires, this role will play an important part in establishing processes, fostering collaboration, and building a strong foundation for the hub’s continued growth and success.

Key Responsibilities

Test Strategy & Planning

Develop and execute QA strategies for enterprise applications and integrationsDefine test plans, test cases, and acceptance criteria aligned to business requirementsPartner with Product Managers and Business Analysts to ensure adequate test coverageTake ownership in establishing and enhancing QA methodologies, processes, and governance practices, demonstrating a proactive and self-directed approach to quality assurance initiativesBring a Builder Mindset and take ownership in establishing and enhancing QA methodologies, processes, and governance practices, demonstrating a proactive and self-directed approach to quality assurance initiativesTest Execution & Automation

Perform functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing supportBuild and maintain automated test scripts where applicableValidate accuracy of workflows across time, expense, billing, and project systemsDemonstrate a hands-on, results-oriented mindset with the ability to independently identify quality risks, drive testing activities, and deliver solutions with minimal supervisionPerformance Testing Competency

Design and execute non-functional testing including performance, load, and reliability validationValidate system behavior under failure conditions (timeouts, API errors, downstream failures)Manage test environments and coordinate test data setup across systems

• Ensure test data accuracy, completeness, and alignment with production scenarios Perform API testing including request/response validation, schema verification, and error handling scenariosValidate authentication, authorization, and data exchange patterns across integrationsExecute release validation, including smoke testing and post-deployment verificationValidate rollback procedures and ensure production readiness prior to releaseCollaborate effectively with globally distributed teams and stakeholders across multiple time zones to support testing, release, and project commitmentsMaintain schedule flexibility, when required, to accommodate meetings, testing activities, and critical project milestones involving team members across different regions and UTC time zonesDefect Management & Resolution

Identify, document, and track defects through resolutionCollaborate with engineering and product teams to prioritize fixesEnsure releases meet defined quality and performance standardsIntegration & Data Validation

Validate end-to-end workflows across multiple interconnected systemsEnsure data integrity across ERP, workflow tools, and reporting platformsSupport testing of APIs, data pipelines, and system integrationsContinuous Improvement

Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to reduce defectsContribute to QA best practices, standards, and documentationSupport enhancements to release management and testing processesAct as Player/Coach, mentor, and support team members in developing QA and testing skills, promoting best practices and fostering a quality-first mindset across the teamContribute to building and maturing the organization's QA processes, standards, and testing frameworks through a proactive and continuous improvement approach Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Software TestingExperience with enterprise applications, ERP systems, or multi-system integrationsFamiliarity with test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, or similar)Experience with test case management and defect tracking tools (e.g., Azure DevOps)Strong analytical skills and attention to detailPreferred Attributes
