About this role
We have a fantastic opportunity to lead DC operations for our brand-new JB Hi-Fi Distribution Centre currently being established in Christchurch. Based in Yaldhurst, Christchurch, this role offers a unique chance to be part of the DC start-up journey, helping shape operations, build processes and contribute to the success of a new state-of-the-art distribution facility.
The DC Lead will support Distribution Centre (DC) operations and outbound delivery routines, effectively and safely supporting operational effectiveness for a market leading retailer in Consumer Electronics and big and bulky Home Delivery.
*Note, this position may require working one weekend day*
Manage the DC facility in terms of relevant security, housekeeping, contractor / visitor management and maintenance requirements and standards Ensure appropriate processes, controls, oversight of all delivery activities and experiences to ensure carrier compliance with CoR policy and standard operating procedures Oversee compliance and effectiveness of local delivery crew engagement and management routines performed by carrier management such as toolbox routines. Work with Store Teams to reinforce understanding and awareness of related routines as relevant to allied transport tasks – eg store transfers, blended freight sales, display stock salesEnsure appropriate processes, management controls and oversight to ensure alignment of activities with core policy and standard operating procedures, including: Inventory integrity Space management Inbound supplier deliveries and accurate receipt of Purchase Orders Bulky Goods Returns, claims management and recycling process Outbound deliveries including product handover to third party carriers Oversee risk management activities, including incident investigations, corrective actions, and ongoing improvement of safety practices. Manage and monitor labour, freight, consumable and facility budgets to ensure cost‑effective operations. Preferred Experience and Qualifications
Demonstrated leadership of managing and leading a supply chain operation At least 5 years operational warehouse and transport experience Competencies
