About this role

As Buyer III based at our US headquarters in East Syracuse, NY, you will be accountable for leading supply chain efficiency with data-driven, sustainable recommendations for customers and INFICON ISS objectives. You will play a critical role in ensuring material availability, supplier performance, and inventory health within a low‑volume, high‑mix manufacturing environment.

You will also partner cross-functionally to translate demand into executable procurement plans. In addition, you'll bring strong SAP/MRP expertise, supplier relationship skills, and a data‑driven mindset to improve service levels while balancing cost and inventory risk.

What you will be doing

Oversee all activity related to purchase orders, inventory control and vendor managementTranslates MRP signals, forecasts, and exception messages into timely purchasing decisions that balance supply, cost, and inventory riskOwns end‑to‑end purchase order execution for assigned categories, from requisition review through delivery, expediting, and issue resolutionEnsures material availability to support production schedules and maintains a minimum 95% fill rateManages inventory levels, lead times, and supply buffers to improve material flow and shorten lead times without driving excess inventoryOwns supplier performance for assigned categories, proactively addressing OTD, cost, quality, and capacity risksPartners cross‑functionally with Manufacturing, Planning, Quality, Engineering, and Strategic Sourcing to resolve complex supply issuesMaintains accurate purchasing and supplier data within SAP to support effective planning and executionSupports S&OP by aligning short‑, mid‑, and long‑term supplier capacity plans with demand requirements Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (preferred)5+ years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or demand planningStrong working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP/MRP systemsAdvanced proficiency in Excel; working knowledge of PowerPoint and WordExperience with Lean, Kanban, pull systems, or VMI (preferred)Analytical, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities independentlySuccess Behaviors

The actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law. In addition, INFICON employees are eligible for a profit-sharing bonus with a target of 10% as well as 401K match up to 8% (vesting schedule).
