About this role
As an API Manager, you will be part of a team responsible for designing and implementing an API framework for multiple business areas across the CA Group.
You will support different teams in developing external‑facing APIs, providing:
core building blocksdocumentationbest practicestraining on API adoptionThe team operates using Agile methodology (sprints) and collaborates closely with a remote Team Lead.
In the long term, this role will help establish a Design Authority extension in Portugal, supporting guidelines, best practices, and future recruitment.
Strong understanding of APIs, API Composition, BFF, API GatewayAbility to design Java services and components in a microservices ecosystemAPI documentation expertise: Swagger, OpenAPI (JSON/YAML)Ability to write and structure technical best practicesStrong proficiency with Java 8–11Excellent knowledge of Spring Boot (v2+), Spring Data, JPA, HibernateStrong expertise with Spring SecurityUnderstanding of API authentication and authorizationAbility to build POCs and simple Hello World examplesAwareness of API monitoringCapability to assist in API architecture and reusable API designExperience with API performance optimizationGood understanding of French.Additional Skills (Nice to Have)
