Welcome to our Accounting Team!
As a Senior Accountant, you will be a key contributor to the smooth running of our accounting function in Poland, ensuring accurate financial records and timely reporting across our subsidiaries. In addition to managing core accounting activities, you will help shape and optimise our processes as we transition from outsourced to in-house accounting.
Key responsibilities:
Handle day-to-day general ledger activities, ensuring accurate and timely accounting entries in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policiesPerform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate financial reportingPrepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reportsManage bank, intercompany, and other balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring discrepancies are identified and resolved in a timely mannerHandle payment runs and oversee the processing of supplier invoices and employee expenses, ensuring accuracy, appropriate approvals, and compliance with agreed payment terms and internal proceduresEnsure compliance with local accounting and tax regulations, IFRS requirements, and company policiesCoordinate tax compliance activities, including VAT, CIT, and WHT filings, in cooperation with external tax advisors and relevant internal teamsCoordinate the annual audit process, including preparation of audit schedules, responding to auditor queries, and following up on audit findingsSupport the Finance Manager in developing, implementing, and continuously improving accounting processes and procedures, particularly as the company transitions from outsourced to in-house accountingContribute to the annual budgeting and forecasting processManage the day-to-day use of the ERP system, ensuring data accuracy and reconciliations, and identify opportunities for process and system improvements. Education & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related fieldMaster’s degree and/or professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA) is an advantageAccounting & Technical Expertise
3-5+ years of accounting or finance experience, including a senior accounting role, ideally within a corporate or multinational environmentStrong knowledge of Polish accounting and tax regulations, with a good understanding of IFRSProven experience with month-end/year-end closings, financial reporting, audits, and tax complianceProficiency in ERP systems and financial reporting tools; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience is a plusAdvanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and data analysisCommunication & Collaboration
Upper-intermediate English with the ability to work effectively in an international environment; German is an advantageAbility to work independently, take ownership, and collaborate with cross-functional and international teamsAnalytical & Process Improvement Skills
Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detailExperience improving, standardising, or implementing accounting processes is an advantage.
