**For ContiTech Power Transmission Solutions, we are seeking a Product Development Engineer (m/f/diverse) for the Power Transmission Belt Product Development department. This is a critical role with the following key responsibilities:**
Direct the planning and rigorous monitoring of product development projects in strict accordance with established PLC frameworksFormulate comprehensive new product specifications that precisely align with customer requirements and technical standardsOversee and execute prototype production runs with full accountability for quality and timeline adherenceAssess and implement advanced materials with thorough evaluation of performance implicationsConduct rigorous verification and quality assurance of prototypes, including dimensional analysis, comprehensive laboratory testing, and durability assessment protocolsLead and manage the transition to serial production, ensuring seamless handover and operational readinessDirect the transfer of products from development to industrialisation, maintaining strict quality and compliance standardsSpearhead cost reduction initiatives whilst maintaining product integrity and performance standardsConduct systematic root cause and failure analysis to resolve customer complaints and prevent recurrenceExecute additional product development responsibilities as mandated by operational requirements and business prioritiesProvide direct supervision and mentoring of students, student thesis projects, and interns, fostering professional development
Academic degree in Engineering, Natural Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline (mandatory)Minimum 5 years of professional experience in product development, materials engineering, or power transmission manufacturingDemonstrated expertise in rubber materials and rubber belt manufacturing processesProficient written and spoken English language skillsExceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a methodical and autonomous approach to workProven ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across multidisciplinary teamsWillingness and capability to undertake business travel as required
