Looking for an Active, Hands-On Role? This Job Will Keep You Moving!
At Leatherman, we build tools people depend on. Behind every tool is a team that keeps materials moving, production running, and our manufacturing operation on track.
We're looking for a dependable, hardworking Materials Handler who enjoys physical work, staying active throughout the day, solving problems, and being part of a manufacturing team.
This is a highly physical position that requires continual movement, lifting, pushing, pulling, and material handling throughout the workday.
If you enjoy working on your feet, staying busy, and seeing the results of your hard work, we'd love to hear from you!
IMPORTANT: Please Review the Physical Requirements Before Applying
This is not primarily a forklift-driving or desk-based inventory position. Much of your day will involve physically moving materials throughout our manufacturing and logistics operations.
To be successful in this position, you must be able to perform the following essential physical functions, with or without reasonable accommodation:
• Continually lift and/or move materials weighing up to 30 pounds throughout the workday.
• Occasionally lift and/or move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly push and pull loads averaging 125 pounds, and occasionally push/pull loads up to 250 pounds, using appropriate material-handling methods and equipment.
• Continually stand, walk, balance, reach, grasp, and handle materials throughout the shift.
• Occasionally bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, or crawl.
• Move materials between work areas, including stacking tubs, preparing shipments, weighing parts, and moving inventory.
• Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hand trucks, and other material-handling equipment following required training and certification.
Please consider these requirements carefully. This is an active, physically demanding job where material movement is a regular part of the work—not an occasional task.
What You'll Be Doing
As a Materials Handler II, you'll help keep production moving by ensuring materials, parts, components, and supplies are where they need to be, when they're needed.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Physically moving raw materials, components, and supplies between manufacturing and storage areas.
• Receiving, unloading, processing, and organizing incoming materials.
• Preparing outgoing shipments, including stacking, wrapping, scanning, and weighing materials.
• Operating forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
• Performing inventory cycle counts and investigating discrepancies.
• Using Microsoft Dynamics 365 and scanning equipment to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Locating and expediting materials needed to support production.
• Supporting manufacturing teams when priorities shift or material shortages arise.
• Following all safety procedures, including those related to hazardous materials.
What We're Looking For
We'd love to meet candidates who bring:
• Experience in physically demanding warehouse, manufacturing, production, or material-handling environments.
• Approximately 2–4 years of warehouse or materials-handling experience.
• Comfort with a fast-paced job that involves continual physical activity.
• Strong attention to safety, accuracy, and detail.
• The ability to organize priorities and respond to changing production needs.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• A dependable, team-oriented approach.
• Experience with inventory systems, scanning equipment, or forklifts is a plus.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
Forklift and riding pallet jack training and certification are provided.
Your Work Environment
You'll work in an active manufacturing environment where teamwork, safety, and keeping materials flowing are essential.
The position involves regular exposure to manufacturing noise, dust, lubricants, and coolant mist or vapor. Appropriate personal protective equipment and safety training are provided.
