Role Description
The Program Manager has a lead role with supporting the National Resource Center on Nutrition and Aging (NRCNA) at USAging. The goal of USAging and our partners in the NRCNA is to support the aging and disability network to scale senior nutrition programs nationwide in alignment with the Older Americans Act and to advance ACL’s Whole Person Health strategic priority and the Make America Healthy again agenda. USAging will work closely with Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs) and Title VI Native American Programs to strengthen the network’s ability to scale nutrition program innovations nationwide, ensure a clear return on ACL’s investment, and provide technical assistance to the Aging Network to scale and replicate the most successful models.
The ideal candidate will be an efficient and proactive manager who is organized, strategic and an excellent communicator able to balance multiple activities daily.
Qualifications
Master’s degree preferred plus at least five years of relevant work experience Expert-level knowledge of the Aging Network and issues related to nutrition services and Older Americans Act nutrition regulations; direct field experience with nutrition programs preferred Two years supervisory experience Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and follow-through Excellent oral and written communications skills Ability to plan ahead, meet deadlines and balance multiple projects Ability to keep track of details and timelines and effectively communicate the most relevant information to supervisors/colleagues/partners Knowledge of 508 compliance requirements Excellent skills with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint Experience with Survey Monkey or other survey platforms and webinar broadcast platforms Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and build external relationships Self-starter who takes initiative and has proven time management and problem-solving skills Must have an all-hands-on-deck attitude and a willingness to pitch in when needed Attention to detail and follow-through, even in a fast-paced environment Passion for USAging’s mission of helping older adults age in place and maintain their health and independence for as long as possible
Requirements
Provide oversight of the development, implementation and evaluation of the project work plan and budget. Work with funder, vendors and partners to facilitate an efficient, coordinated and synergistic process for the administration and completion of activities. Manage partner agreements. Prepare project progress and financial reports. Oversee the development, implementation and management of the Nutrition Center database. Assist as a liaison to funder on project issues. Ensure program remains in compliance and meets all auditing standards. Plan and manage event planning efforts and peer-to-peer sessions related to the initiative. Serve as a spokesperson, speaking at in-person and virtual training sessions and other venues. Utilize project management tools, including Excel and project management tools, to organize and manage program activities. Work closely with partners to develop and conduct program evaluations and surveys. Take a lead role with writing program materials including needs assessment, email blasts/social media, surveys, topical guides, reports and technical assistance materials. Communicate clearly in writing and via telephone/Microsoft Teams/Zoom with USAging members, partners, funders and other stakeholders. Prepare project reports and summaries of program activities as required. Ensure 508 compliance for all initiative products and deliverables. Review and approve financial reports and expenses. Other duties as assigned.

Work Hours and Location
This full-time position is based in USAging’s Washington, DC, office. Qualified candidates outside of the Washington, DC area will be considered. The successful candidate will be able to attend the USAging Annual Conference and Tradeshow each summer for up to six days.
