Requirements: Strong hands-on experience administering and configuring the SolarWinds Orion Platform.Experience implementing and supporting SolarWinds monitoring solutions.Windows Server and Linux infrastructure administration experience.Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring, event management, alerting, and automation.Experience with troubleshooting, incident management, and root cause analysis.Experience supporting complex enterprise IT environments.Ability to work independently and collaborate with technical stakeholders.Desirable: ServiceNow integration and IT Service Management (ITSM) experience.Desirable: Network monitoring and infrastructure observability experience.Desirable: VMware infrastructure monitoring experience.Desirable: Application Performance Monitoring (APM), Digital Experience Monitoring (DEM), or Azure monitoring experience.Desirable: Monitoring governance and operational documentation experience. Responsibilities: Administer, configure, and optimise the SolarWinds Orion monitoring platform.Design and implement infrastructure monitoring solutions across Windows and Linux servers.Onboard servers, network devices, and applications into SolarWinds monitoring.Configure SolarWinds agents, alerts, events, and monitoring thresholds.Troubleshoot monitoring incidents and perform root cause analysis.Improve alert management, event correlation, and monitoring automation.Support monitoring across VMware-based, on-premises infrastructure.Assist with ServiceNow integration, ITSM processes, and CMDB alignment.Support observability improvements involving APM, DEM, and Azure monitoring.Produce technical documentation and monitoring standards. We are recruiting an experienced SolarWinds Engineer or SolarWinds Technical Consultant for a major enterprise IT infrastructure and observability improvement programme. This hands-on role involves working with the SolarWinds Orion Platform across a complex Windows Server, Linux, and VMware environment, alongside infrastructure, application support, and IT service management teams to enhance monitoring capabilities, reduce outstanding technical work, and improve service reliability. The contract is for six months, based in Durrington, West Sussex, with hybrid working, at a day rate of £500.
