About this role

Salary: £48,000 - 48,000 per year

Requirements: Proficiency in managing and optimizing on-premises MS SQL databases and Microsoft Azure databases.Technical skills in on-premises and Azure cloud MS SQL Server management, T-SQL, Python, Azure infrastructure, Spark, Databricks, Airflow, dbt, and data modelling using Star or Snowflake schemas.Proven ability to maintain database availability, performance, and security.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot database and server issues efficiently.Adaptability to work in a challenging development environment.Ideally, 5–10 years of relevant database administration experience.Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time.Positive, self-motivated approach, with strong communication skills for liaising with development and other IT teams.Approachable manner and excellent attention to detail. Responsibilities: Maintain and oversee our database systems, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and security protocols.Design, implement, and maintain secure, robust MS SQL database infrastructure for mission-critical applications, and optimize database performance.Ensure data accuracy and integrity through validation processes and proactive issue resolution.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement backup, disaster recovery, and data retention strategies.Help anticipate and accommodate growing data needs, contributing to strategic planning and decision-making.Monitor and improve database performance, reliability, and security, and resolve issues promptly.Support and troubleshoot database-related issues to minimize disruption to operations.
