Salary: £25,000 - 65,000 per year
Requirements: Hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop, including data modelling, Power Query and report development.Good working knowledge of DAX, including measures, filter context and relationships.Good SQL development skills, including joins, aggregations and window functions.Good understanding of dimensional modelling, including facts, dimensions and star-schema design.Experience working with relational databases and data warehouse environments.Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to validating data accuracy and consistency.Ability to investigate discrepancies between reports and underlying source data.Good communication skills and ability to explain technical and data-related concepts clearly to non-technical colleagues.Ability to gather business requirements and translate business problems into clearly defined technical requirements and outcomes.Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently using your own initiative.Desirable: Experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Data Warehouse, Lakehouse and Data Pipelines.Desirable: Experience with Git and Azure DevOps, or equivalent source-control and pull-request workflows.Desirable: Experience with Power BI Project (PBIP) format.Desirable: Experience with Tabular Editor.Desirable: Experience with Power BI Row-Level Security (RLS).Desirable: Experience with Power BI deployment pipelines and controlled deployment processes.Desirable: Experience with Power BI performance analysis and optimisation using tools such as DAX Studio.Desirable: Experience with SSIS or other ETL/data integration technologies.Desirable: Experience supporting or integrating BI solutions with business applications.Desirable: Relevant Microsoft certification, such as PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst) or DP-600 (Fabric Analytics Engineer); certification is beneficial but not essential. Responsibilities: Design, develop and maintain Power BI semantic models, including star schemas, relationships, calculated measures and DAX.Develop clear, intuitive and well-organised Power BI reports and dashboards, and maintain and improve existing reporting solutions.Write, maintain and optimise SQL for data preparation, transformation and reporting within the data warehouse.Work with colleagues across the business to gather and understand reporting and analytical requirements and translate them into appropriate technical solutions.Present and explain data, reports and analytical findings clearly to technical and non-technical colleagues.Thoroughly test reports and data solutions, validating results against source systems before release.Investigate and resolve data quality, reporting and performance issues.Maintain appropriate documentation for BI solutions, data models and reporting processes.Maintain development work under source control and follow appropriate review and deployment processes before production release.Handle sensitive business, HR and personal data securely and in accordance with company policies and UK GDPR requirements.Contribute to development projects that improve our data, analysis and reporting capabilities.Provide technical support for our in-house developed web applications, investigating and resolving support requests within agreed service levels.Work collaboratively with other members of our IT and development teams.
