Responsibilities: Develop, lead and maintain our Digital and AI Strategy, aligned with Companies House strategy and cross-government digital priorities.Lead strategic modernisation planning across our services and technology.Establish governance, assurance and ethical frameworks for digital transformation and AI adoption, ensuring compliance with legislation, government policy and recognised best practice.Engage senior leaders, stakeholders and external partners to build support for change and encourage adoption.Work with data, analytics, digital and technology teams to improve organisational capability.As Senior Responsible Owner, lead the design and delivery of a multi-year modernisation programme, using AI to drive improvements and achieve outcomes.Deliver modernisation programmes to agreed time, cost and quality expectations; turn long-term vision into clear, deliverable plans; and align priorities and secure investment with senior stakeholders.Manage programme benefits, risks and outcomes, oversee the transition from legacy systems and processes to modern, resilient services, and use evidence to track progress and inform executive decisions.Champion user-centred, data-informed decision-making and responsible AI adoption, build organisational capability and support teams to deliver shared outcomes. We are Companies House, a national institution delivering public services used by millions of people and businesses across the UK. This senior leadership role reports to our Director of Digital and Technology and offers the opportunity to lead our digital and AI agenda from strategy and investment through to delivery and measurable outcomes. The role is based at our Cardiff office, Crown Way, Cardiff, CF14 3UZ, with regular office attendance agreed with the manager. We use a hybrid working approach, and the role can only be carried out in the UK. The salary is £74,089–£80,300; offers are normally made at the minimum of the pay scale, with negotiations in some circumstances depending on demonstrated skills and experience. Salary increases depend on annual pay negotiations with central government, and transfers from other Civil Service roles are handled under our pay policies.
