Requirements: Were looking for someone who enjoys practical problem-solving, working with hardware, and spending much of the day away from a desk.You should be comfortable working in a factory and production environment, being on your feet, and moving around a large site.You should take ownership of issues, work independently when onsite, communicate clearly with technical and non-technical users, remain calm under pressure, and know when to troubleshoot or escalate.We expect experience or basic working knowledge of several of the following: Windows 10 and 11, Microsoft 365, desktop and laptop hardware, printers, basic TCP/IP networking, wired and wireless network troubleshooting, Microsoft Teams, Active Directory or Microsoft Entra ID, general IT fault-finding, and IT ticketing or service management systems.Previous Service Desk, onsite IT support, or field support experience would be useful. Were also open to developing someone with a strong technical foundation and the right attitude, including someone seeking their first IT support role.You must have the right to work in the UK and a full UK driving licence.You must be able to travel to other locations when reasonably required and participate in the on-call rota, including occasional out-of-hours site attendance.You should be able to commute reliably to Kingskettle KY15 7TJ or plan to relocate before starting. Responsibilities: Provide first-line IT support across office and factory environments, investigating and resolving issues onsite.Take ownership of support tickets through to resolution and keep users informed throughout.Troubleshoot printers, Windows devices, Microsoft 365, hardware, and basic wired and wireless network connectivity.Install, replace, and troubleshoot PCs, monitors, docks, scanners, printers, and other peripherals.Set up equipment for new users, replace faulty hardware, and carry out basic cabling, equipment moves, and other physical IT tasks.Record work accurately in our service management platform and keep tickets and documentation up to date.Escalate complex issues to our wider technical team and identify recurring faults to help reduce repeat incidents.Support our Service Desk when the onsite workload allows, and occasionally work from one of our offices or another customer site.Participate in our on-call rota and attend customer sites outside normal working hours when required.Follow our and the customers security, confidentiality, health, safety, food hygiene, and operational procedures. Were m3 Networks, and were hiring a practical, hands-on IT Support Technician to provide dedicated onsite support for a key customer in Fife. Youll be employed by us, report to our Service Desk Manager, and remain part of our wider Service Team while spending most of your working week at the customers busy manufacturing site. This is a primarily onsite, physical role involving regular movement between office and production areas; conditions may sometimes be cold, noisy, or wet, and appropriate PPE may be required. Normal hours are Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00. The position is initially a 12-month fixed-term contract, with a possible further 12-month extension depending on business requirements and performance; a permanent role may also become available, but neither is guaranteed. The preferred start is immediate or as soon as available. Pay is £26,000–£32,000 per year. Benefits include casual dress, company events, a company pension, free and onsite parking, and sick pay.
