About this role
The assistant professor will develop new DNA-stabilized silver or other noble metal nanoclusters with unique photophysical properties. There will be a strong focus on both the photophysical and structural understanding. The assistant professor’s duties will primarily include research, including obligations with regard to publication/scientific communication and research-based teaching with associated examination obligations within DNA-stabilized Noble metal cluster-based emitters. To a limited extent this may also include performance of other duties. Assessment of applicants will primarily consider their level of documented, internationally competitive research. The ability to attract external funding will be considered together with outreach qualifications. Teaching qualifications are not mandatory but documented teaching qualifications and teaching experience will be considered. Furthermore, we are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist with the following skills and experience: Essential experience and skills: You have a PhD in Chemistry You are highly experienced in DNA-AgNC synthesis, purification, crystallization and spectroscopic characterization You have an active interest in unraveling the structure of DNA-AgNCs You have pre- and postgraduate teaching experience within chemistry Proficient communication skills and ability to work in teams Excellent English skills written and spoken Desirable experience and skills: mass-spectrometry x-ray diffraction Place of employment The place of employment is at the Department of Chemistry, University of Copenhagen.
