Fixed term contract/ secondment opportunity until 30th March 2027

We are looking for an independent worker with excellent organisational skills to join our close-knit team of specialist nurses and screening administrators.

This is an exciting new role within Bowel Cancer Screening and an opportunity to join our friendly team who are consistently top scorers for staff morale in the annual staff survey.

Cancer screening services are constantly expanding and play a vital role in supporting the Faster Diagnosis Standard and the early diagnosis of cancer.

In this role you will be part of an established national screening programme. Working closely with the Programme Manager, you will be responsible for management of our admin team, monitoring of waiting lists and adherence to screening and Trust standards. You will also have the opportunity to develop a new role within our team, addressing health inequalities and maximizing screening uptake for 50-74 year olds across the whole of Norfolk and parts of Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.

Main duties of the job

Manage the day-to-day running of the screening programme administrative staff resolving any issues that arise. Provide cover for the Programme Manager during periods of annual leave and sickness absence including being operationally responsible for the day to day running of the screening programme. Monitor screening standards and be responsible for managing waiting lists in line with Trust patient access policies, procedures and Bowel Cancer Screening targets. In liaison with the Programme Manager/ Lead Specialist Screening Practitioner, maintain a health equity audit and action log. Work with the national bowel screening team, other screening programmes, and GPs to plan and attend regional health promotion events.
