Job summary
The post holder, as a member of the Medical Specialties admin team, has the responsibility for providing a high quality and comprehensive range of administrative and image acquisition duties The post-holder will have responsibility for ensuring a high quality cost-effective and efficient service to the users of the Dermatology Service. They will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team in delivering an excellent patient and user experience.This post will be the first point of contact for all patients, and book appointments in a timely and efficient manner. To be aware of and understand the RTT and cancer pathways and all urgent suspected skin cancer (USSC) teledermatology patients. The post holder will act as an ambassador for UCH in the outpatient department, applying the Trust's values to the services you provide to patients, visitors and colleagues. Ensuring the smooth running of the USSC Teledermatology outpatient clinics and a customer focused efficient and empathetic service to all visitors.
Main duties of the job
o To establish and maintain administrative processes for urgent suspected skin cancer (USSC) teledermatology serviceo Provide an administrative triage to USSC teledermatology service referrals and where appropriate coordinate transfer of patients to suitable pathway.
o Undertake 2D clinical photography using specialist equipment for diagnosis, case records, treatment planning, education, research and publication.o Utilise specialist clinical photography techniques and skills including, dermatoscopy.o Interpretation of diagnostic and anatomical terminology (i.e. dermatology) and working closely with clinical staff for clarification of photographic requirements.o Manage dermatology photographic clinics and be responsible for the safe conduct of the patient during their appointment, together with explaining the photographic procedure and confirming consent.o Follow national guidelines for audit purposes and working to protocols to enable accurate recording of all stages of treatment and assessment.o Ensure specific teledermatology audit data collection is collated in a timely mannero Observing Trust policies and procedures

Person Specification
Knowledge and Qualifications Essential
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, including Grade C or higher in English Knowledge of the full range of administrative procedures, acquired through training and previous experience of working in an administrative environment. Awareness of the requirement to maintain confidentiality, and knowledge of the Data protection Act.
Experience Desirable
Demonstrable knowledge of secretarial procedures at a high level of competence acquired through either training or experience. Previous NHS experience. Previous experience of clinical image acquisition
Skills and Abilities Essential
Advanced keyboard skills, and competent use of IT.
Communication Essential
Able to communicate accurately and effectively with patients and colleagues, verbally and in writing.
