Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Pathology Division for a Divisional Personal Assistant to support the Divisional Management Team. This is a varied and rewarding role at the centre of a busy and complex service, providing high-level administrative, organisational and project support to senior clinical and operational leaders.
We are looking for a proactive, highly organised individual with excellent communication skills and a strong attention to detail. You will be confident managing competing priorities, dealing with sensitive information and building effective working relationships with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders.
As a key member of the divisional team, you will contribute to the smooth running of the service through diary management, governance coordination, project support, meeting administration and the management of divisional processes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their experience within NHS management and gain exposure to a wide range of operational, governance and service improvement activities.

Main duties of the job
The Divisional Personal Assistant plays a key role in supporting the effective operation of the Pathology Division. Working closely with senior clinical and operational leaders, you will coordinate a wide range of administrative, governance and organisational activities, helping to ensure the smooth running of a busy and complex service.
This role requires a highly organised and proactive individual who is able to manage competing priorities, work independently and maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality. You will build effective relationships with colleagues across the Trust, coordinate meetings and governance processes, support projects and service improvement initiatives, and act as a central point of contact for a wide range of stakeholders.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong administrative and IT abilities, and a flexible approach to supporting the needs of the Division. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working alongside senior managers and clinicians while contributing directly to the delivery and development of pathology services.

Person Specification
Knowledge and Qualifications Essential
Educated to GCSE level or equivalent, with Grade C or above in English and Maths Knowledge of administrative procedures, acquired through training and/or previous experience of working in an administrative environment Awareness of the requirement to maintain confidentiality, and knowledge of the Data Protection Act
Desirable
NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration, Customer Service, Healthcare Support Services or equivalent qualification
Experience Essential
Experience of working in a non-routine environment, with demonstrable evidence of being able to respond to queries and deal with unpredictable situations as they arise (acquired through experience and/or training to Vocational level 3 or equivalent) Experience of working in a customer facing environment, with knowledge of a comprehensive range of administrative procedures
Desirable
Previous NHS experience, or experience of working in a healthcare setting
