Job summary
The Associate People and Culture Partner plays a key role within the People Directorate, providing professional HR support across a designated portfolio. The postholder contributes to effective workforce planning, employee relations, organisational change and the delivery of People & Culture initiatives that support divisional and Trust-wide priorities.
Working closely with senior leaders, operational managers, and colleagues across the People Directorate, the postholder supports the delivery of workforce KPIs, provides expert advice on employment matters, and contributes to policy development, culture improvement and staff experience.
The role requires the postholder to be on site at least three days per week, supporting the organisation's commitment to visible leadership, collaborative working and high-quality service delivery across all three areas.
Main duties of the job
1. People and Culture Advisory Support
Provide professional, customer-focused People and Culture advice across a designated Division / corporate service, covering employee relations, terms and conditions, resourcing and organisational change.
2. Workforce Planning & KPI Delivery
Assist in designing and implementing plans to achieve workforce KPIs, including sickness, appraisal compliance, recruitment and retention.
Produce and analyse divisional workforce reports, identifying trends and recommending solutions.
3. Organisational Design & Policy Development
Lead and support formal consultation processes related to organisational change, including TUPE where relevant.
Contribute to reviewing and developing Trust people policies and ensuring compliance with employment legislation.
Work closely with staff side to maintain positive industrial relations.
4. Training, Coaching & Manager Development
Help design and deliver training to strengthen management capability, particularly in employee relations and people management.
Coach managers on HR policies, complex casework and best-practice approaches.
5. Recruitment & Establishment Control
Partner with services and recruitment teams to address hard-to-fill roles and support effective recruitment strategies.
6. Project Leadership & Change Management
Lead or support People and Culture projects as required.
Support organisational change programmes, redeployment processes and workforce-related improvement initiatives.

Educated to degree level Chartered member of CIPD
Knowledge Essential
Employee relations experience in a complex, multi-disciplinary and culturally diverse organization Experience of operating effectively in a customer facing environment In depth knowledge of employment legislation and understanding of the risks of non-compliance Experience of advising managers on complex and serious individual and/or collective conflict situations including disciplinary, capability and grievance issues Experience of supporting effective organisational change initiatives, including Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) Well-developed understanding and awareness of best practice employee relations methodologies Experience of working in a multi-unionised environment
