Are you a dynamic and highly experienced social work leader,seeking a new leadership opportunity?

We are seeking a full time Social Care Professional Lead / Service Manager to join the team. You will provide professional social care leadership for staff, and work as a member of the multidisciplinary governance and management team arrangements within the Mental Health Directorate. The post is predominantly focused on adult services provision and will work in partnership across the interface of Oxfordshire County Council and Oxford Health services, working in partnership with third sector organisations (the Oxfordshire Mental Health Partnership 'OMHP) to develop services.

The Service Manager will also be responsible for contributing to overall Directorate strategy/policy to ensure that the Directorate delivers its quality, people, finance, and performance objectives (in regard to the service they manage).

Main duties of the job

You will:

Work within the Mental Health Directorate Senior Management Team and Clinical Leadership to advise how Social Work and Social Care values, practice and statutory responsibilities are represented and integrated in the delivery of integrated health and social care adult MH services. Perform a leadership role on behalf of the local authority in respect of safeguarding within the directorate working together with clinical and management teams to assure high quality safeguarding practice, undertaking audits of the directorate performance. Take responsibility for advising and interpreting the parameters of Social Care policy to ensure that Social Care services are delivered safely and securely within statutory and legal frameworks. Lead, analyse and judge highly complex data from designated investigations of complaints, Patient Safety Incidents (PSIs) to ensure organisational learning and service improvement.

Qualifications Essential

Social Work Degree Qualification Evidence of Mental Health social care expertise.

Desirable

Approved Mental Health Professional/BIA

Aptitude and Skill Essential

Demonstration of well-developed and effective leadership skills. Understanding of the principles of effective project management.

Experience Essential

Extensive experience of the development of good relationships across stakeholders Substantial experience of managing health and social care staff. Management of key resources - staff, finance, performance, and information Experience of working in multi-disciplinary settings.

Desirable

Advanced Excel skills.

Personal Qualities Essential

Evidence of Leadership and motivational skills. Ability to work with frequent exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances. Evidence of negotiating skills in complex organisational processes.
