The Opportunity

Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Accounting & Consolidation Manager will play an important role in our North American Finance team, overseeing corporate accounting, financial reporting, and consolidation activities across Canadian and U.S. entities.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys getting into the details while also looking at the bigger picture. You'll have ownership of key accounting processes, work closely with our North American and Global Finance teams, and help improve the way we manage financial reporting as our business continues to grow.

From managing intercompany transactions and corporate allocations to supporting cash-flow forecasting and finance transformation initiatives, you'll have the opportunity to make a real contribution to the business. We're looking for someone who takes initiative, enjoys solving problems, and wants to help build processes that work well today and can grow with us tomorrow.

What You'll Be Doing

Accounting and Financial Reporting

• Lead accounting and financial reporting for key Canadian and U.S. corporate entities, shared services, and R&D/Engineering entities.

• Oversee month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial analysis.

• Prepare and review financial reports, investigate variances, and help ensure accurate and timely reporting.

• Maintain strong accounting practices and identify opportunities to improve the quality and efficiency of financial reporting.

Consolidation and Intercompany Accounting

• Manage North American financial consolidation, including intercompany eliminations, foreign exchange, consolidation adjustments, and related analysis.

• Oversee intercompany balances and transactions, including reconciliations, collections, issue resolution, and settlements.

• Manage management-fee calculations, billing, reconciliations, and settlements with Global Headquarters and North American entities.

• Oversee corporate and shared-service costs, including the allocation of corporate overhead across North America.

Cash Flow, Compliance and Audit

• Develop and maintain cash-flow forecasts for assigned entities and support budgeting and forecasting activities.

• Coordinate audit preparation for assigned entities, including supporting schedules, documentation, and responses to audit requests.

• Support the maintenance and improvement of internal controls and financial reporting procedures.

• Work with Tax to support corporate tax filings, GST/HST remittances, and related compliance requirements.

Process Improvement and Collaboration

• Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate accounting and reporting processes.

• Work closely with Finance, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and other business teams to resolve issues and improve financial visibility.

• Support the implementation and ongoing development of ERP and consolidation systems.

• Collaborate with Global Finance on reporting requirements, accounting processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

• A CPA designation or recognized equivalent.

• At least 7 years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, ideally in a multi-entity environment.

• Strong knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, consolidations, intercompany accounting, and month-end close.

• Solid knowledge of IFRS, ASPE, and U.S. GAAP, with the ability to research accounting guidance and apply it to complex transactions.

• Experience working with multiple entities and currencies, including intercompany and foreign-currency transactions.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and the ability to work through complex financial information.

• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.

• A practical, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving, with the confidence to take ownership and follow issues through to resolution.

• Clear communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships across teams.

You don't need to check every box below, but experience in any of these areas would be an asset:
