Job Summary:
The Depositary Manager is responsible for overseeing the funds' domicile control and oversight program, managing client interactions, and ensuring the completeness of the operating model. This role requires a strategic leader with extensive experience in board and regulatory interactions, and the ability to lead the relationship with regulators in the domicile.
The role performs a broad range of client engagement, onboarding of new funds, offboarding and fund control and oversight tasks including escalation management.
Job Responsibilities:
• Oversee the oversight program for funds in the domicile, ensuring compliance with local depositary regulatory regimes. • Ensure an appropriate and robust control and oversight framework for the funds. • Carry out all assigned tasks and duties in line with the relevant Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and J.P. Morgan’s internal policies • Manage client responsibilities and interactions, ensuring the completeness and effectiveness of the operating model in place. • Collaborate with the Country Depositary Manager (DM) to maintain and enhance the relationship with regulators in the domicile. • Maintain close relationships with internal and external stakeholders and clients. • Proactively escalate issues, delays, and key risks to the Head of Depositary Services Germany. • Provide regular data inputs for reporting and statistical metrics. • Outsourcing Governance and Oversight as well as Delegate Management • Participate in regular Governance meetings and other Forums. • Drive process improvements, and provide support for process and technology initiatives; leverage internal AI tools to improve efficiency and quality in BAU delivery
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:
• Experience in Depositary Services or a related financial sector. • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a regulatory environment. • Good analytical skills and the ability to support compliance efforts. • Effective communication and teamwork skills. • Eagerness to learn and develop within the depositary field. • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. • Ability to interpret and apply financial regulations. • Strong attention to detail; high standards for quality (accuracy) and service (responsiveness) • Excellent prioritisation, planning, organisational, and time and project management skills • Ability to interpret and apply financial regulations • Excellent interpersonal skills (verbal and written); confident communicator with internal and external stakeholders and clients • Very experienced (advanced) with Microsoft Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint) • Excel: Financial Modeling, Pivot Tables, KPI Ratio Analysis • AI Prompting • Data Blending, ETL Processes, Workflow Automation (basis knowledge) • Fluency in German is essential
