About this role
To safely execute hydrostatic pressure testing activities, ensuring piping systems and pressure vessels meet design, quality, and integrity requirements prior to commissioning and operation.
• Perform hydrostatic pressure testing of piping systems, vessels, and equipment in accordance with approved procedures and specifications. • Safely prepare, install, operate, and dismantle hydrotest equipment, including pumps, hoses, blinds, and pressure gauges. • Verify system integrity by identifying and reporting leaks, defects, or pressure losses during testing activities. • Ensure all hydrotest activities are conducted in compliance with safety requirements, permits, and company procedures. • Maintain accurate test records and documentation to support quality and commissioning requirements. • Support construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities while promoting a strong safety culture and teamwork.
Execute hydrostatic pressure testing activities safely and efficiently, ensuring piping systems and pressure vessels meet project quality, integrity, and commissioning requirements while maintaining full compliance with safety procedures and industry standards as per below.
• Prepare piping systems, vessels, and equipment for hydrostatic pressure testing. • Install and remove test blinds, hoses, pumps, pressure gauges, and other hydrotest equipment. • Conduct hydrostatic pressure tests in accordance with approved procedures, specifications, and safety requirements. • Monitor and record test pressures, hold times, and test results. • Inspect systems for leaks, pressure drops, or other abnormalities during testing. • Assist in filling, venting, pressurizing, depressurizing, and draining test systems. • Establish and maintain hydrotest exclusion zones and safety barriers. • Ensure all tools and equipment are inspected and fit for use before testing activities. • Follow permit-to-work requirements, risk assessments, and safe work procedures. • Report unsafe conditions, equipment defects, test failures, and incidents to supervision. • Maintain accurate hydrotest records, reports, and documentation. • Support reinstatement activities following completion of hydrotesting. • Maintain good housekeeping in the work area and ensure the proper handling of test water and waste. • Work closely with supervisors, inspectors, commissioning personnel, and construction teams to complete testing activities safely and efficiently. • Promote a strong safety culture and actively participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings.
• Candidates require the following experience and qualifications. • Minimum 3 years of experience in hydrotesting, piping, mechanical, construction, or commissioning activities within industrial facilities, oil & gas, or similar environments. • Experience working with hydrotest pumps, pressure gauges, hoses, and piping systems is preferred. • Basic understanding of hydrostatic pressure testing procedures and requirements. • Familiarity with piping systems, valves, flanges, blinds, and test equipment. • Ability to read and follow drawings, test packages, procedures, and work instructions. • Knowledge of pressure testing safety requirements and hazard controls. • Strong commitment to safe work practices and compliance with company HSE policy. • Familiarity with Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and risk assessments. • Ability to recognize hazards associated with pressure testing and stored energy. • Good communication and teamwork skills. • Ability to work under supervision and follow instructions accurately • Physically fit and capable of working in industrial and outdoor environments. • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
