Under the direction of the Vice President of Strategic Enterprise Solutions, the Director of Strategic Enterprise Solutions is responsible for the effective leadership and management of key process redesign efforts and a strategic portfolio of projects. Providing leadership and oversite, the Director will evaluate current operations and work with hospital management and executive leadership to design, implement, and sustain comprehensive processes and systems that integrate people, process, and technology. The director will drive the healthcare system's market position through smart, sustainable growth, overseeing the design, implementation, and sustainment of comprehensive integrated solutions across the enterprise. To achieve sustainable financial performance and strategic growth, IH must prioritize optimizing service line profitability. This involves a comprehensive analysis of key variables influencing profitability, including payer mix, case mix, site of care efficiency, and cost structure alignment. By taking a global perspective on profitability, we aim to identify and prioritize high-value service lines, enhance financial outcomes, and align our operational and strategic focus with the organization’s long-term goals. Primary Responsibilities: Strategic Consulting:
• Conduct comprehensive performance reviews by service line and entity, incorporating advanced financial modeling to refine financial and operational strategies. • Develop a strategic growth framework through in-depth market and service line analysis, underpinned by rigorous financial analysis to enhance market position and drive sustainable growth. • Engage with stakeholders to align efforts and integrate community and patient insights into financially sound service improvements. Enterprise Solutions:
• Lead the design and implementation of comprehensive solutions that encompass people, processes, and technology, focusing on market growth and operational optimization. • Oversee significant change management initiatives, ensuring the financial and operational success of integrated solutions. • Utilize performance analytics to manage the adoption of process improvements and system integrations that optimize healthcare operations and patient outcomes. Strategic Enterprise Solutions Team: The Director will be responsible for managing the team within Strategic Enterprise Solutions, which is inclusive of project management, performance analytics, process improvement and change management functions. This includes managing staff, resources, IT optimizations, developing, and implementing policies and procedures, and coordinating with external partners.This is inclusive of coordinating and managing the portfolio of work of all project managers, program managers, and analysts within the Strategic Enterprise Solutions team.
• Performance Analytics: The Director and the performance analytics group will collaborate closely with operations leaders by identifying, developing, and providing objective data, analysis and tools that enable leadership to make informed decisions and action plans to support operations in strategic goals. This includes analyzing data, forecasting demand, and working with other departments to ensure the Strategic Enterprise Solutions team is making data driven decisions while optimizing processes. • Project Management: Completes projects according to the parameters, timelines and budget discussed and agreed on by senior management, providing updates and discussing important project variables on a continuous basis. Manage multi-work stream portfolios and programs to timeline, scope, and budget across the larger system with multiple project managers and program managers reporting to the position. • Process Improvement: Identifies opportunities for operational improvement that favorably impact cost and quality and improve the satisfaction of patients, co-workers, and physicians. Manages and coordinates health system wide efforts to ensure performance improvement programs are developed and used effectively within the Strategic Enterprise Solutions team. Mentors, trains, and coaches direct reports. • Change Management: Collaborate, communicate, and coordinate with clinical and operational program leaders, executive leadership, sponsors to ensure that the programs vision, strategic goals, and needs are being met through communication plans, readiness assessments, and stakeholder management plans. Trains team members to serve as change agents, assisting leaders and caregivers to assimilate change in performance processes and practices. Matrix Responsibilities: The Director will work closely with the Vice President of Strategic Enterprise Solutions, Vice President of Care Management and Utilization Review, Vice President of Workforce Transformation and the Chief Strategy Officer to align their people, processes, and technology with the vision and goals of the Strategic Enterprise Solutions department. This includes developing and implementing policies and procedures, coordinating activities, coordinating A3s and ensuring that all departments are working towards a common goal. Third tier of leadership support for Strategic Enterprise Solutions team. Key Competencies:
• Strategic Vision: In partnership with VP of Strategic Enterprise Solutions, ability to articulate and execute a clear vision for both immediate and long-term strategic goals, underpinned by strong financial planning and business planning skills. • Leadership and Influence: Proven leadership skills with the ability to drive decision-making and influence cross-functional teams. • Integrated Solutions Expertise: Proficiency in managing comprehensive solutions that include people, processes, and technology within a financially driven framework. • Change Management: Skilled in managing organizational change to ensure seamless adoption of new processes and technologies with a focus on financial sustainability. Collaborate, communicate, and coordinate with clinical and operational program leaders, executive leadership, sponsors to ensure that the programs vision, strategic goals, and needs are being met • Performance Improvement: Manages and coordinates health system wide efforts to ensure performance improvement programs are developed and managed using data driven focus that sets priorities for improvements aligned to ongoing strategic imperatives
• 5+ years of healthcare operations experience required • 3+ years of experience in a leadership role within a health organization preferred • Master’s in healthcare administration or MBA required • Project management, Lean certifications preferred • Ability to analyze and interpret financial and other data • General intuition for business • Excellent interpersonal skills necessary; ability to interact with a wide range of staff and hospital personnel in a professional manner; customer service skills must be strong, genuine and noticeable • Ability to plan, prioritize, and achieve effective time management • Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives • Public speaking skills and writing skills a must INTEGRIS Health is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
