• Ensure reliable, safe and efficient operation of all generating units, auxiliaries, and balance of plant systems. • Ensures full compliance with Statutory HSS, environmental and technical requirements from central and state governmental bodies (i.e. CEA, CERC, DSA, SCEI, AP/CPCB etc. compliances). • Developing safe systems of work (SSOW) procedures, including HIRA, PTW, LOTO, JSA etc. for your area. • To provide oversight of all electrical maintenance activities, management of the maintenance teams, financial control, contract management, environmental compliance, regulatory compliance, technical compliance, risk evaluations and relationship management. • Ensure O&M for electrical systems at Hydro and PSP Assets are aligned and carried out in line to prevailing O&M practices in the organization. • Implement analytical tools, procedures, protocols etc. for ensuring efficient and effective monitoring, cost and performance optimization of Electrical systems/works at Hydro and PSP Assets. • Prepare maintenance strategy to achieve higher reliability (maximized MTTF) and greater efficiency (minimized MTTR) and implement the maintenance plans at plant level accordingly. • Lead equipment failure investigations and analysis, establish RCA framework and implement performance monitoring, corrective actions and continuous improvement methodology, for your area. • Preparation of service contract and contract management for electrical maintenance works outsourced to external service providers. • Guide and support electrical section head for preparation and implementation of complete plant maintenance reports and checklists, including daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and checklists. • Plans and leads major upgradations at Hydro and PSP assets for Electrical systems. • Establishment of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) at plant level, taking lead for electrical systems. • Guides and supports Hydro and PSP electrical section heads in preparation of maintenance budget, work to optimize the costs and maximize production. This includes developing and tracking the monthly, quarterly, and annual maintenance budgets. • Define and monitor maintenance plans to achieve yearly Generation targets (including minimization of APC consumption) and yearly agreed Plant/Machines Availability targets. • Support Hydro and PSP electrical section heads in plant improvement projects, modernization initiatives, digital transformation, and automation upgrades. • Maintains plant critical spares inventory, in coordination with section heads, to meet the exigencies. • Train and develop electrical maintenance team at Plant and prepare a detailed training calendar for electrical maintenance team accordingly. • Develop and execute risk management strategies to mitigate maintenance related risks and ensure compliance with internal audits. • Guide and support Hydro and PSP electrical section heads in developing electrical maintenance records and present the same to management on need basis. • Support Hydro and PSP Assets for IMS implementation, documentation preparation and updating, pertaining to your area (i.e., Electrical systems). • Provide support to Hydro and PSP electrical section heads in ensuring the production equipment are in good working condition, are reliable for use, and are maintained at an optimal cost. • Ensures electrical maintenance activities are performed in a safe, professional manner and in accordance with the industry standards, original equipment manufacturer’s recommendations and in line to approved standard operating procedures. • Proffer solutions to solve electrical system related issues faced at Assets and ensure optimization of equipment reliability. • Coordinate and monitor implementation of reliability centred maintenance (RCM) in conjunction with relevant section heads at Hydro and PSP Assets. • Ensures compliance with industry standards, regulations, safety protocols, and safe system to work (SSOW) procedures. • Staying up to date with the latest trends, innovations, and best practices in electrical engineering, to drive continuous improvement. • Ensure that all electrical aspects of the operations are managed effectively and efficiently.
• B.E/B. Tech/M.Tech in Electrical Engineering. • 15+ years of experience in O&M in large scale hydropower plants. • Strong knowledge of Statutory and regulatory requirements pertaining to Hydro and PSS Plants. • Maintenance experience of large-scale hydro and/or pump storage power plants is preferred • Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) for Plant maintenance works. • Knowledge of analytics tools for performance optimization and risk assessment. • Advanced certifications in maintenance management or other power generation technologies or energy manager and auditor certification are preferred
