Purpose We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Associate Compliance Officer to join our global Compliance team in Porto. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a mature and dynamic Compliance program within a multinational organization operating in a complex global environment. The successful candidate will provide support to key compliance activities, including the management of our Speak Up Line, internal investigations, third-party due diligence, compliance risk assessments, training initiatives and business advisory. Responsibilities Speak Up Program & Internal Investigations Support the day-to-day management of SBM Offshore’s SpeakUp channel (whistleblowing hotline), ensuring all reports are logged and addressed in a timely manner. Support internal investigations, including preparing investigation plans, conducting interviews, reviewing evidence, documenting findings and drafting investigation reports. Develop communication and awareness initiatives to promote a strong Speak Up culture and reinforce employee trust in reporting channels. Third Party Due Diligence Conduct risk-based due diligence on new and existing third parties, with continuous monitoring throughout the whole relationship cycle. Review due diligence outcomes and recommend appropriate mitigation measures. Support the maintenance and enhancement of third-party risk management processes and tools. Compliance Advisory & Business Partnering Act as a trusted compliance advisor to business stakeholders across multiple functions and regions. Build strong collaborative relationships with business functions to promote a culture of integrity and accountability. Compliance Program Implementation Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Compliance policies, procedures, and controls. Contribute to Compliance risk assessments and monitoring activities. Contribute to initiatives related to anti-bribery and corruption, conflicts of interest, data privacy, sanctions, and other Compliance topics. Stay up to date with local laws, regulations and industry trends, and provide support in adjusting internal practices accordingly. Training & Awareness Design and deliver Compliance training programs for employees. Develop engaging communication campaigns to increase awareness of Compliance requirements and ethical expectations. Support global Compliance initiatives and culture-building activities. Contribute to the continuous improvement of training materials and awareness resources. Reporting & Governance Support the preparation of Compliance metrics, dashboards, trend analyses, and management reports. Support periodic reporting to senior management, governance committees, and other stakeholders. Identify emerging trends and lessons learned from investigations and compliance activities. Education Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Experience 2-5 years of relevant experience in Compliance, Legal, Internal Audit, Risk Management, or a related field. Experience within a multinational corporation, international organization or international law firm is highly desirable. Fluency in English (written & oral) is required Advanced skills in MS Office & IT tools in general. Knowledge of the oil & gas / energy sector is considered a plus.
