About this role

At Endress+Hauser, progress happens by working together. As the global leader in measurement instrumentation, our ~18,000 employees shape the future in the field of process automation. Whether developing and realizing new technology as a team, collaborating to build instrumentation, or strengthening vital relationships with countless global industries, we work to create trusted relationships that help everyone thrive. As a family-owned company, we look beyond short-term moves and work to create a vision that is forward-thinking for our people, our clients, and the world at large. We are looking for an Industrial Engineering Intern to join our Industrial Engineering team and gain practical manufacturing experience while supporting standardized, efficient, and sustainable production processes. Working alongside Industrial Engineers, you will contribute to production support, process documentation, data collection and analysis, time studies, and implementation activities. What is the role about? Are you interested in seeing how industrial engineering principles are applied in a real manufacturing environment? Do you enjoy observing processes, organizing data, and helping solve production challenges? Are you eager to contribute to continuous improvement while learning from experienced engineers? In this internship, you will support the Industrial Engineering team and collaborate with production employees, team leads, Quality, Maintenance, and other cross-functional partners on hands-on assignments that improve manufacturing processes. Which tasks will you perform? You will: • Assist Industrial Engineers with engineering change requests, project activities, and production-related assignments. • Support day-to-day production needs by gathering information, observing processes, documenting issues, and helping coordinate follow-up actions under the direction of an Industrial Engineer. • Create and revise work instructions to support accurate and standardized production processes. • Conduct time studies and process observations to help identify opportunities to improve labor utilization, workflow, and capacity. • Participate in continuous improvement activities and assist with root cause investigations for production issues. • Assist with the implementation and validation of new or revised processes, equipment, tools, fixtures, and work instructions. • Collaborate with production employees, team leads, Quality, Maintenance, and other cross-functional departments to complete assigned work. • Complete additional duties as assigned. What do we expect from you? You: • Are currently enrolled as a junior or senior at an accredited college or university and pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. • Can observe production processes, collect accurate data, and organize results clearly and logically. • Bring attention to detail and a willingness to investigate problems at the production floor level. • Have a basic understanding of problem-solving principles. • Are proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally and can work respectfully with employees at different levels of the organization. • Demonstrate strong organization, prioritization, and follow-through while managing multiple assignments with guidance from the engineering team. • Are self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. What can you expect from us? • A family-owned, highly committed global company with a sustainable vision of the future. • Practical manufacturing experience and mentorship from Industrial Engineers. • Hands-on exposure to production support, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. • A safety-first, climate-controlled, clean manufacturing facility that uses Lean practices and ergonomic workstations. • Opportunities to build technical, analytical, and professional skills through meaningful project work. Compensation $23-$25 per hour. The base pay offered for this position will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. How do you apply? To apply, we kindly ask you to upload your documents on our career page.
