Working as part of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing a safe, efficient and compassionate phlebotomy service to our patients.

Job description Job responsibilities
The following are the core responsibilities of the Phlebotomist. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
Obtain patient consent for the collection of blood samples. Perform venepuncture in accordance with local policies and procedures. Maintain accurate patient records using SystmOne. Ensure the correct labelling, packaging and storage of samples for transportation to the laboratory. Work collaboratively within the wider practice team. Recognise and escalate safeguarding concerns appropriately. Act as a chaperone when required. Maintain stock levels within clinical rooms. Perform Urinalysis
In addition to the primary responsibilities, the healthcare assistant may be requested to:
Participate in practice audit as directed by the audit lead Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and patient care Support and participate in shared learning within the practice Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota Support infection prevention and control procedures. Promote patient wellbeing and provide opportunistic health advice where appropriate.
